Why are Fairchild parts so much cheaper?
Looking at Mouser, it seems Fairchild LM317/337's and BD139/140 parts are much cheaper than ON Semi and the rest. Why's this so? Thanks!

Cheap Fairchild
Hi,
In some cases it depends on what parts you comparing. Just recently I needed to buy some lm350 regulators and 1n4448 diodes. In the first case ON Semi was 20 cents dearer than Fairchild. In the second case Fairchild was a touch dearer than Philips. I bought parts from diffeent suppliers and prices from different suppliers sometimes differ substantially for may reasons. Sometimes however, as in the above cases, there are some differences in one or two parameters of the theoretically the same components. cheers, Janusz |
