Default Ground Trafo case

Hello all,
I am using an E-I type transformer for an amp and it is enclosed in a metal case. Should I connect the case to ground or just leave it unconnected? The case I am using is wooden, so it is obviously not grounded.

Yes you may, some EI cores Ibuy localy, even have a ground spade for easy connecton.
