Wink Simple Eagle question. I already searched, but I didn't find what I want.

Hi !!

Look at the attached image. I have this whole circuit, and I need to select ALL and COPY it, as the "second" part of the schematic is the same as the first.

I tried to select Group, and then copy, but it don't work. What is funny is that, it works to move it, but I can't copy paste it.

Another thing is, is there anyway to "import" an schematic, or use part of other schematic project in a new one?

Like, if I have two projects in eagle, one named Distortion, and another named Heavy Distortion. The first is a simple distortion and the second is the same as the first, but with one more distortion stage, so I would like to open the schematic of the "Distortion" and use it's contents to create the "Heavy Distortion", to avoid drawing it all again. Is it possible?

Sorry about asking these simple questions, but I seached a lot and I didn't find anything like this.

Thank you very much.

Best Regards!

Your second question.
Open the file 'distortion' make all the changes you need and then save it using "save as" and enter a new file name . The original will remain as before and the new one will have another file name.

For the first question . I haven't solved that yet !
Cheers.

Yes, I already know this method, work for this situation. But when you're doing a project (glue work) that involves lot of small projects, it doesn't work

Eagle is a great design tool, but there's some basic things missing so much...

Talking copy function Eagle

Dear Nando,

Once i had the same problem.

Please use the "cut and paste" function!

Make a group first, as you did. Use cut, left click in the middle of the group and use paste.
You probably expect that the "cut group" disappeard but it doesn't.

Good luck

Johan.

Default "cut and paste"

Eagle is a great program but most people(included myself)are to lazy to read the help-files. But after a few hours of trial and error without any result it's the last chance.
When you think about "cut and paste" a ordinairy windows user expect different results and that's the problem.

Gr.
