I found some decent looking balanced mic cable in the market.
The stranded copper core and the copper braided shield look decent. It has cotton fiber between the braid and the pvc(?) insulation of the dual core . It says 'low noise professional mic cable'. There isn't any brand name. I checked a two meter length . Capacitance is 182pF for a 2 meter length. this is what stumped me : at 1Khz it measures as 45 K ohms at 120Hz it measures as 120K ohms. This is between the + and - core with the other end open circuit. The meter is Ok as it shows open ckt with nothing connected to it. Any explanation of this behaviour ? Obviously a very poor cable to use for audio !
