This is the item on Ebay. Note the location. Note the price:
http://cgi.ebay.com/NICE-v6i-CLASS-A...QQcmdZViewItem This is the item from the 'other place'. It is the "affirmation" model, an intergrated. Note the very slight changes on the Ebay unit. Note the retail pricing. http://www.redrosemusic.com/literature.shtml I will buy parts there, and chassis there, but I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER manufacture a finished product there. How about the guy I know who went to the Chinese factory to see his 'prototype' basket for his 18" woofer design? Then when he arrived, unexpectedly, I might add..when he got to the research lab..he had a bunch of nervous engineers showing him his woofer design. As he turned to look around the room..he saw the hastily shoved behind the door....duplicates of his personal custom created design (he did most of the work). I was talking to someone who wants to produce any or all of my of my woofer/midbass design work in China, for me. He tells me of his respect. Then he goes on to raise the hair on the back of my neck..by telling me how, by this invigorating success story......the company created a custom design for a company/customer...and then..turned around..and marketed that product..to 6-8 others! And they wonder why I don't call back. I want to use some of the innovations I've created and sat on, over the years. But not like that. I'd enjoy the challenge of doing some design work. For me, it would be sheer fun. But ending up with 30 competitors using my innovations before I do....NO THANKS. |

look at it this way - you get the pricing advantage of a much larger production volume efficency - and save the hassle of actually having to push that much product

That's pretty much why the company I work for refuses to use a China semiconductor fab. We have enough problems with patent infringement as it is. ( one for you, two for me, etc...).
