I borrowed a friends KEF PSW2000 subwoofer to find out why it powered on (green light) but produced no sound.
I'm not sure what the U8 chip is, as it seems to have been obliterated after the green cap vomited all over it!
Can anyone tell me what 224K means on the capacitor?

Well, from the picture (in post #1), it looks like the cap may be to blame. I won't be fixing it, I was just looking for the problem. Now that I've found it I'll let him decide what to do with it...
