Your going to have an extremely hard time finding these chips. They were hard enough to find when Tripath was still in business.
If your h**l bent on getting this IC, I suggest buying a used motorola DCP-501 receiver. The DCP-501 has 3 TA3020 IC's plus other bits you could use to make your own board. I have a DCP-501 board that went kaput. I believe one of the IC's is dead, but the other 2 are still good. If someone wants to pay the shipping cost they can have it.

Salam Mehrdad,
Try contacting Jan at http://www.41hz.com/ - he sells Tripath Amp kits and may be able to sell you a TA3020 chip by itself if you ask nicely. His contact details can be found on the site. I know payment from Iran can be a problem (no visa, mastercard or amex....), so I guess you would have to send cash euros by post or arrange a bank transfer.... alternatively you may have a relative in Europe or North America who can help you out. Are you in Tehran? If so, you are a lucky person -- the electronic malls on Jomuri are great, and there are some Blackgate bargains to be had, as well as some big can Kendeils..... Black Gate Caps shock regards, Stefan |

Mehrdad,
Let me see if I can desolder the chips for you. I think mailing the entire board would cost too much. I don't have any desolder tools, just desoldering braid, so it's going to be a PITA.

Salam Mehrdad,
No I'm not in Iran anymore -- I moved from Tehran to Delhi, India last year. When you are in Tehran, the place you want to check out for parts is a gallery of electronics shops on Jomhuri St, near the Hafez intersection. The gallery is situated on the south side of Jonhuri, opposite to a small street ('Rom Street') that goes south between the walls of the French and Italian embassies. At the entrance to the gallery on the street is a Panasonic TV shop and a magnets/inductor shop. On the street level, at the backside on the right is a shop selling a nice selection of capacitors (including black gates). In the basement there are electronics measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters etc), cables, heatshrink tubing etc. In the upper levels you'll find chassis, connectors, SMPS supplies and so on. If you go east from there along jomhuri street a few minutes walking distance across Hafez, there is another multi-storey center with yet more parts, ICs, caps etc. Prices are very good from what I remember. Hope that helps. |
