is the tip the left channel and the middle one the right channel?

I found something like that in a wiki but wiki entries can be made by anyone so I like to verify their contents.

while we're on this topic, does anyone have a source for stereo headphone jacks (preferably 1/4") that DON'T connect ground straight to the chassis? i'm trying to build a linestage/headphone amp and would rather not cut out a square to mount PCB to insulate it..

Or Bulgin or Rendar, or any number of generic Far Eastern 'plastic block' types. Try your local music shop...
