Hello,

This is a build log of my pa tops.
I'm using Paudio E10-200S and B&C DE250 with ME20 waveguide.
The enclosure is about 25 liters and it will be tuned to 65 hz . It's made from 15 mm plywood and will be painted Turbosound Blue.

We did some measurements for the crossover.
I like the sound of it, the spl is verry high, but as expected there is no low end.
I hope that 1.6 khz is not too low for DE250

I think there is a problem with the hosting site.

The crossovers are up and running. They still need some finishing touches.

In the meantime i changed the enclosures for the subs from 150L and 39 hz tunning made from particle board to 190L 38hz (the tunning will be lower once i add the damping material) made from plywood.

And they are done.
I used them last weekend at my wedding with two additional subwoofer.
The subs were powered by a Proline 3000, and the tops by a plx3002.

Mihai,

I assume that both 10's are covering the same frequncies, yes?
Do you not have any issues with phase smear, using two 10" ?

I only ask because I had previously asked on several forums about my idea of building a 12" coaxial, with an added (plain) 12" for more low mids throw. Everyone said it would be a bad idea. I got the same response from techs at Radian & B&C.

Which I never fully bought into, seeing as there have been many dual 10" commercial designs in the past. So, are those people just being overly picky? Obviously, you like the sound of these, but do you here any muddiness in the low mids, especially from the sides?

The problem with dual mids in MMT configuration is that the lowest woofer is too far from the driver. Also this configuration (depending on drivers) has a peak at 200 hz of about 3-4db that cand sound muddy. The acoustic center of my speakers are in the middle of the upper midbass. If you measure the speaker on the vertical plane you will get dips and peaks, but the speaker will sound ok.

If you use MTM configuration both mids are as close as possible to the driver but far apart from each other, the mids won't couple and you will get weird polar response in the vertical plane.

Both have issues, maybe using a 2.5 crossover is better sounding but lower in SPL.

The midbass drivers are not the best, but for the price (200e for all 4) i am verry satisfied. Maybe something like 10HPL64 will sound better, but for now i will keep these drivers.
