Actually the big C-V speakers with the double 15" woofer were reviewed in recent years by a few Hi-Fi magazines, including the very snobby "The Absolute Sound". They got very good reviews. Surprise!

I do think that if you want party speakers, get the models with at least a single 12" woofer, double 12s even better. Is that in your budget? Will they fit in your house?
Take the Speaker Voltage Test!

you could buy less expensive amps for a home party, Cerwin Vegas are efficient so 50 watts will get the cops to show up.

100 watts would be better. If your going of abuse get an amp rated at 100 watts at 4 or 2 ohms

I'm not super experienced but I do know a thing or two. Craigslist it up. Get some used peavey sp-2's or pr2's and get any amp that's equivalently rated. As long as its brand isn't Gemini or Pyle Pro. U can't go wrong. Plus its a party. Anything w a 15" (for the most part) should be loud enough. Your guests are going to give zero ***** as long as its clear and loud lol
