Sounds like a familiar story, I had exactly the same issue with a Mackie sub I repaired. It all looked good and I returned it to the owner, only for it to fail at their gig and it went in a bad way burning out components and frying the speaker. Ended up getting the parts from RS the second time round and so far so good. The moral of the story, buy from a reputable dealer it'll be worth a few extra $ in the long run.

Glad yours didn't do any damage beyond the transistors.
