Here's the short version: Beringer 1622 and Beringer1222 mixers. What would happen if I went from 1622 main outs to channel 1 input on the 1222. Could I then control everything from the 1222? Trying to alleviate reducing four outs to one return on my snake.

Do not send a fullmixer out into a single normal channel.
At least one of your mixers (or both) must have some line in or direct in or auxiliary inputs at the Master level, use those. |

I've run four mixers through a final mixer mixer in the past; no technical problems. Having to have extra inputs to run auxiliary mixes through, so as to be able to do monitor mix balances or use the same effects across two consoles complicates the problem, but careful planning can give a perfectly workable system.
However, one (mono) return? No monitor mixes, stereo potential, post crossover returns, with twenty eight input channels? Did you wire this snake yourself? I hope you own a few XLR gender changers. Sooner or later you're going to need a few more circuits going back to the stage, and if the system's all properly balanced you should be able to get away with leftover mic channels… |
