LAB.GRUPPEN E Series
New class-D amps at:
E Series Introduction | Lab.gruppen
Well, I really consider a 12:2 as amp for the fronts of my 5.2 hometheater.
It is rated at 2x 600W in 2,4 or 8 Ohm.
But, according to this video
PLASA 2011: Lab.gruppen's E Series amplifiers - YouTube
continuous full power is only 1/6 of the rating, so 2x 100W,
you will get music full power, the rated 2x 600W, for 40ms only.
Being an old fart, hammering down Led Zeppelin, The Who etc. on my Infinity Betas,
( the HT version, see: Home Theater & Sound Equipment Review -- Infinity Beta 50/Beta C360/Beta ES250/SW-12 Home-Theater Speaker System (7/2005) ),
would it be enough ?
I hate "sounding amps", except these are Marshalls, driven by Eric C. or Jeff B., period.

I worked a few years in the professional event business and we used a few labgruppen class d amps and all of them had the same problem - the power is going down either on full load or in two ohms usage.
So we switched to hoellstern! Unbelievable what kind of amps the guys are building. Listen to it - compare it - you will love it and you will throw the lab gruppen to the trash ;-) No joke! We sold all our lab staff and bought the hoellstern.

Have a look at it, call them and order a sample amp - you will love it!
regards from germany!
