How about some Australian blues? The Backsliders!
You Three - Backsliders Driven forth by the rampaging right foot of Midnight Oil's brilliant Rob Hirst: Drum Solo - Rob Hirst and the Backsliders Great stuff, I love it. If you're into blues-rock, then their sister band, Angry Tradesmen, is also fantastic: Big Wave - Angry Tradesmen Oh, and, while this link will probably go dead in the future, check out the full version of their song Yeah Right: Yeah Right - Angry Tradesmen |

" ... Austin, Texas is quite the music town, especially for the blues. ..."
For decades now: "Modern" era beginning mid '60's with live stages in several locations inc. big, loud bars ... and the Vulcan Gas Company come Armadillo World Headquarters, et al .... redolent with MoJo This reporter was witness to: 1st performances of ZZ Top out of San Antonio, Johnny Winter's home base, Sheva's Head Band, Willy Nelson and hundreds more ... Muddy Water's "Electric Mud" Album Release Party ... Lightning Hopkins, Ray Charles (!) ... and a fountain head for East Texas Blues, plus an eclectic mix of big band jazz & country swing, acid rock-a-billy, metal before metal was a genre ...

Muddy Waters - Saw him at the Keystone in Palo Alto just before he died. Bored one Sunday evening in Silicon Valley. Driving past Marquee I see "Tonight Only Muddy Waters"... Yeah, I can do that! also caught Garcia & Buddy Miles there.
Also saw Norton Buffalo there (spent a lot of time at the Keystone), my favorite harp player. Later (in Salt Lake City) got him to sign both albums I had of his. Saw Taj in Salt Lake, partied with him. Signed my Old Folks back home album. He married some gal from Momma Eddies Right On Beanery. Saw Elvin Bishop, Edgar Winters, Leon Russle and Lydia Pense on same bill for $4.50 at some bar in Sunnyvale. Lydia never made it to stage as she got a little tipsy. Tried time and again to catch Tom Rush live. Just missed him every time. Big Mamma Thornton, Cannonball Aderly and Joni Mitchel at UofU union ballroom for $0.50. (Separate venues) BB King at Paul Misson winery. Joplin and Airplane on double bill at Terrace ballroom in SLC, Later Airplane and Cold Blood same place. Stevie Ray Vaughan was a god... Was dead before I discovered him. Favorite Stormy Monday; Lee Michaels. Just reminicing. Doc

Ooh, nice! Thanks for the link. (That guitarist with her looks like a young Tommy Chong
)This is the Lee Michaels link: Lee Michaels - Stormy Monday - YouTube (unfortunately a bad digitize... when will people learn that digital has NO headroom at all. To get a good digitize set levels to -10 db.) Doc

Yes, wish the quality was better on these. This one seems to be half decent sound quality wise. Eva's voice is amazing as always:
Eva Cassidy - Chain Of Fools - YouTube Makes me want to look into digital restoration for much of her work. I wonder if there are high quality masters somewhere for her work. |

Not a bad voice, but a bit too pissed off at the world for my taste. That's okay... if everybody had the same tastes the world would seem pretty bland.
