An exceptional talent in one so young and this is not a one-off, there are many Youtube clips that demonstrate her skills.

Thx., that made my whole day.

She's something, isn't she?
She just look so fragile, almost smaller than the horn. But I'm amazed at her cool professionality - and her ambouchure that make every note belong to "her". Just like Dexter Gordon did with his sax - or Gillespie.
Cat Powers, something diffirent for sure.

This is the song I heard first... very haunting.

Love the out-of-tune guitar

A refreshing artist high on the pop charts that doesn't resort to dance moves, theatrics and T&A to sell her music

Polly Harvey - strange girl, multi-instrumentalist, originally saxophonist but her best instrument is her voice.
She will join another band for a while and play bass or drums as relaxation.

A song here and there is OK, BUT I dare you to try and listen to her CD from end to end without chewing through your wrists, its just so repetitive and predictable.
Yeah perhaps you're right I've never listened to her whole cd.. I came across that song at work and looked her up on the net and found that vid.. The Sat radio station they had playing at work would not be my choice to put on, but it was a mix of pop etc that repeated about every hour or so.. During all those repeated songs from the likes of Britney, Gaga, etc I found her song to stand out with soul and talent compared to the others that were playing..
I just stumbled across this long running thread, and can't believe no mention of Loreena McKennit - not as esoteric as many mentioned, but definitely talented on multiple instruments and can sing a little bit too.
To those who weren't so sure she qualified as more than "just" a vocalist - the late Eva Cassidy could not only sing the phone book but played guitar as well (try "Tall trees in Georgia" from Live at Blues Alley. or "Danny Boy" from Imagine, or .... I could go on - try 'em all, even the "chestnuts" could surprise you)
Patricia Barber
Alison Krauss
Dadawa (thanks, Bud)
Dianna Krall (the early years, before she started phoning it in)
Melody Gardot
Holly Cole
too many
