Just got a used copy of Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms". Heard a lot about it so I got a copy just to see what the fuss was about.
For those that haven't heard the complete albun, let me tell you, it offers FAR more than what was made popular by Radio or MTV. Saxaphones, muted trumpets, exotic percusion and cord changes from Heaven! Don't waist time auditioning. Buy a copy. You'll never regret it. No matter what your interests are! "I am David and I support this announcement" :-)

Hey David, where ya bin? That's 20 years old!
I agree though, it's a goody. But, I must say my favourite is Love over Gold. I can listen to that album once a day for the rest of my life. Oops, threadjacking. You seem to have this effect on me. EDIT: spelling |

NOPE. Don't need no streaming samples on a analog connection. Been misguided that way before.
I'd rather just find a copy and buy it. PS Let me know next time you fire up those speakers. I'll go outside and listen! :-) Did I see a Crown in that picture?

This is a good collection of Dire Straits best.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...Fencoding=UTF8 It is HDCD (what ever that is), but plays on anything. The quality is just, yeah it is good. |

My first impression was to shake my head, but in hindsight, I too have made the mistake of listening to whatever was filtered throught the hit machine, usually relying on 'best ofs' and greatest hits packages. No more. Nor do I listen to radio anymore. Message boards like this have been invaluable to my listening experiences for several years now. Might I suggest you find a copy of Dire Straits' On Every Street as well as Mark Knofler's solo (and stellar) stuff. You'll be glad you did.
