It's my opinion that a remaster is only as good as the remastering engineer on the project. It is, of course, an attempt at improving the sound of an album or simply adapting the sound for a new medium (ie. from magnetic tape to digital pcm) but I believe there is rarely an objective improvement, perhaps simply a difference. That said, I really do like the DCC Remasters by Steve Hoffman. |

Yes, I got The Trinity Session but my favorite is One soul now.
My last purchase: Ben Harper "Live from Mars", it's a good live cd but it doesn't convince me 100%.... |

My wife and I were totaly astounded by the performance of Sarah Blasco at the Common wealth games' end.
Never heard of her before, she seems to have some small circuit releases in Australia, but I can't find any CDs by her yet in general sales.... |

Yes. I have her first album, Waterbearer, a compliation, and her latest from a few years back. Bit twee in many places, but there's certainly a touch of magic there too. Methinks she's a fan of Tolkien. You'd better have a system witha sweet top end though...

Waiting for one of her discs to arrive (anthology i think).
Using nak 4mbs changer (modded with bbrown opamps) into nak re2 receiver feeding a pair of Troels SP95's (soon to become Ektas when i get the timber) |

Also have an aem6000 amp sitting here that I'm not using at present (space constraints
).Now I've been hit with yet another delay, because the timber (veneer) is a new line they dont have it in 25mm yet. Will be 2-3 weeks, then it gets cut, then I can do rest of the machining. Waited four months gathering bits, another 1-2 won't matter. AND Mrs Oldfeild's cd is on back order..... Did get Kate bush 'hounds of love', good but not as good as ariel. P-floyds 'wish you were here', I like very much. And KD langs 'absolute torch and twang', do like her voice, very smooth and never over reaches her ability, when my finances recover will look at some more kd. |
