Covers that are arguably better than the originals:

[

Any others come to mind?

Mmm..arguably (?)...
I like Jad Fair`s Jambalaya (H.Williams sr.) Quite simpel.
Or Psychick TV`s Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun (Pink Floyd ) for a more sinister view on psychedelics. :xeye:
And how about Sensational Alex Harvey`s Faith Healer "done" by Foetus In Excelsis Corruptus Deluxe.

Does this one have cover?

Speaking of Iron Horses,
"Not necessarily white", said The Red Squaw of Pride,
from Bob Dylan's pen:

--------------------------
When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?

You can't take it with you
and you know that it's too worthless to be sold,
They tell you, "Time is money"
as if your life was worth its weight in gold.

When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?
--------------------------

I do not know anyone, that has had the courage
to ask him for to cover any of the songs on "Slow Train Coming".
Maybe they can't be done better?
That is what I think!

Except when using his natural voice as in "Lay, lady lay", almost anything Bob Dylan wrote other people do better.
Only Bob Dylan can sing his songs. No others. Few songs in the following album maybe ...

Eric Burdon Cover?

Also Jello Biafra (of Dead Kennedys) made pretty nice cover of an old classic: "We Gonna Get Out of This Place"
"We gonna get out of this place"
is this the same as the old classic, with Eric Burdon and The Animals
-----------
We gotta get out of this place
If it's the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
Cause girl, there's a better life for me and you

Now my girl you're so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true, yeah
You'll be dead before your time is due, I know it

Watch my daddy in bed a-dyin'
Watched his hair been turnin' grey, yeah
He's been workin' and slavin' his life away
I know he's been workin' so hard
-----------
I wouldn't think that it is.
I have hard to imagine someone singing it better
than Eric - Eric's Voice really got that special "brutal power"
