You would think that RCA could have hired some decent talent to run the Nashville Studios. Instead they got Chet Adkins and Bill Porter. What a pair of jokers.

Those guys just ruined Elvis's career.

Regardless, "studio hacks" is probably unfair. Most of them were probably only trying to make a living. "Corporate hacks" is probably more correct.

What happened to Elvis is the rule in popular music, whereas Neil is the exception.

Devo was fun in the begining, but the gimmick got tired pretty fast.

At least Neil Young churned out a few good ones over a long range of years. Gotta give him that. I like a lot of his stuff.

Poor Elvis, all he ever wanted to be was a crooner. Ended up as the "King of Rock & Roll".

by who's proclamation? Don't mind elvis - but I think to proclaim him that might come from the urge in the US to have someone with an aristocratic sheen in this not so egalitarian society.
