Well, after listening to KT's new album 5-6 times, I am stunned. Is it just me or is that lady just so unique as I think?? This new album is just about the best CD released for years! Very mature kind of adult semi-classical pop! Not easy accesible but after a few listens the album just get stuck in your mind
Any oppinions, beside mine??Steen

Who has time for music?
When all amplifier outputs drive scopes and multimeters .... Is there something wrong with your multimeter steenoe? Did you smoke your dummy load? So now, you have to listen to music with loudspeakers connected. Poor chap!

Good album. Felt like she'd never been away when I listened.

I'm not. Well, not entirely. The Kick Inside was released the year I was born.
But I was brought up on a diet of Kate's music along with Led Zep, Dylan, Floyd, Captain Beefheart etc.. The music on those albums are some of my earliest memories.

First Kate's song that I ever heard was of course "Running up that hill" - it was catchy, slightly unusual pop song, but it was still pop - and at that time I expected that Kate Bush is some mainstream pop singer with few crazy escapades - but I wanted to be sure, just in case that I don't miss maybe something interesting so I borrowed two CD's : "Whole story" (Best off) and "The Dreaming".
And then I realized that I was totally wrong:she's crazy singer with little pop escapades fortunately. "The Dreaming" is great album IMO, someone tried to described her voice as "Bjork meets Tori Amos" combination - that's maybe closest description of that album - crazy but again totaly musical. Her music and singing style at first glance seems slightly wierd and unusual, but after few listenings everything fits perfectly. |
