Oh, another abolute great. The music from the Goonies by Dave Grusin. The Fertalli Chase. Sadly this song is not on the Goonies movie sound track, but it is avaliable on Dave Grusin's greatest hits CD. I bought the whole CD for that one song. Oddly enough, the rest of his music is totally different and dare I say borning.

That song is now avaliable on SACD and I havn't bought it yet, but I probably will, just for that one song.

I'd have to nominate the original Star Wars as having the most recognizable soundtrack of any movie.

My favourites would be

The Good The Bad and The Ugly - Ennio Morricone
Blade Runner - Vangelis
Conan the Barbarian - Basil Poledouris
Saturday Night Fever - Bee Gees & Others
Lawrence of Arabia - Maurice Jarre

Queen's 80's soundtrack to Metropolis was pretty good too, as was Highlander for that matter.

I'll try to keep it varied :)

Must repeat these:
  • Chicago
  • Romeo + Juliet
  • Clockwork Orange
  • All Beatles films (especially Yellow Submarine)
And add...
  • Moulin Rouge
  • Rocky Horror Picture Show
  • Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
  • Any John Williams sound track (E.T., Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc.)
  • Slumdog Millionaire
  • The Thomas Crown Affair (original)

I didn't know about the Gabriel one though... I'll have to check that out. On a similar note, it's not a soundtrack, but OVO is incredible.
