I think what's needed is an independant organization to listen to the stuff the recording companies are churning out and to grade each recording for sound quality. Sort of like Consumer Reports. Then post the results on a web site and offer the recording companies the chance to use their "sound quality seal of approval" on cd packaging if the recording meets certain quality standards. I'll bet the cd makers would be fighting to get that seal of approval in no time. Without it, it can be assumed the recording is junk.
Of course to many listeners sound quality may not be important anyways, but for those that do care it's better than the **** shoot we have now. |

That would be a teriffic idea if the record labels that make a quality product could be talked into putting the seal on.
