We all have a few . . . Here's my pet hates:
- Tracey Chapman - a combination of voice and over-earnestess - John Denver - do I need to say - the 70s song "What About me?" - syrupy - the Foreigner song "I've Been Waiting" What music drives you crazy? |

anything with natalie merchant in it just makes me turn the dial.
shania twain. ok so she's hot looking, but they gave her a bionic voice. do they think people can't hear the tone correction? third eye blind. the lead singer has a speech impediment. bugs me to hell. celine dion. actually has good pipes, but she takes herself way too seriously. the debarges. yuck. i can't believe they had hits. pm dawn. what the hell was that. whoever recorded that r&b piece of crap 'rock steady'. it's so monotonous it makes me nauseous. also 'cherish' by kool and the gang. god how awful. dammit now i've got that song in my head. i quit, this is just bringing me down. i don't listen to much radio nowadays, just to avoid accidentally hearing crap. DUDE THIS IS NOT GOOD FOR YOUR SOUL...don't get sucked into this thread...the whole exercise is evil... /andrew - probably going to have nightmares tonight. |

here's more crap, because my brain has been infected:
richard marx michael bolton kenny g, (goes without saying, i guess) jefferson starplane-airship, the godawful 'we built this city', which gives me the shameful notion that it might not be so bad that a significant number of rock stars die before their time...

Guys, don't waste your time documenting, or worse listening to
musics you would love to hate. Save your time and money, buy a good sound system and marry a beautiful girl who can sing. What? You have a wife already? Well, don't let her choose the CDs. Give her a dedicated listening room complete with a boombox, or better a diskman

Faust (Andrew)
You have the spirit. michael Bolton, kenny g, jefferson starplane-airship (excluding the live version of White Rabbit on a Tour of Duty CD) are the height of evil. Drive a stake throught the hear of such music. What about Garth Brooks, most Elvis, and (not to be sexist) the Spice Giiirls?

Haha you guys are crazy!
Aside from Michael Bolton, I have something by each of those artists....yes including Ricks list (Garth Brooks, and Spice Girls). I bought Spice World simply for "Two Become One"...theres a couple other slower songs on there that were never played on the radio that were OK. You guys sound like you jumped on the "other bandwagon". Macy Gray is the only person I really hate....just my god...lay off the smokes and 8am malt liquor! Celine Deon annoys me (since she thinks shes the greatest singer ever), but some of her older stuff is alright...at least Annie Lennox is eccentric enough to be the way she is. But I bite my tongue as I myself love to hate rap....it just has no complexity or harmony...so I don't like it.

I agree with most of the above, and would like to add:
- Uncle Kracker - Nickelback - Most all of the country from the last few years, with the exception of some masterpieces like Teatro. - Darkness - New Metallica I could go on, but don't want to make my list too long. In the international spirit of the forum - Here is a song that is so awful that I hate to love it. From famous german pop artist Gunter Gabriel - Ding Ding Dong. Here is a sample of the lyrics: Ohh, you touch my tralalala mhh my ding ding dong...mhh Lalalalalalalalalalalalalala Ohh, you tocuh my tralalala Lalalalalalalalalalalalala (mhh my ding ding dong) Lalalalalalalalalalalalala Deep in the night I looking for some fun Deep in the night I looking for some love Deep, Deep, Deep in the night I looking for some fun Timeless....
