Hello all,
I hope this is the place to ask. For a project using digital signal processing I need some wav music files. Does anybody know where I legally, and without getting into copyright problems can download some tracks to manipulate and later publish different versions of? I’m investigating what phase shift does to our perception of the music we hear. I could of cause use my own CD collection, but since they are all copyrighted I fear that I’ll be in trouble if I use any tracks for my experiments - I’ll certainly be in trouble if I publish them. So I’d like to get my hands on some non copyrighted music wav files. Preferably with some nice music, and/or maybe speech. The main thing is that the digital quality is up there with professionally made CDs. Can you help me? Thanks \Jens |

Hi Jens,
Preliminary suggestion: Feel free to use my music as long as you put a link to my website. Feel free to select any tracks from my ampcast.com page. This permission is granted for you and for you only. Anyone else must obtain their permissions separately. Anyway, showing the link is mandatory in order to use my material and I hope that you notify me of which songs you have selected. Also your wave files must be available for free. You can not charge anything of any derivative works which have been based on my tracks. My music can be downloaded here: http://www.ampcast.com/karoliina It sounds quite much like Jean-Michel Jarre or Vangelis, old-school electronic music with fat analog-sounding synthesizer sounds. However, my music is not without copyrights, but I can grant rights for specific purposes such as this. I hope you wish choose my music for your experiments. Please contact me privately if you agree with the terms and conditions. My address e-mail is: ![]() Best Wishes, Karoliina Salminen |

You could also ask the finnish girl that builds speakers ( saw her last posting on the tumult seat thread), She's got a small studio and makes music on hobby basis.
