Sgt Pepper programme.
Default Sgt Pepper programme.

There was a fascinating programme on BBC4 10:30 last night "Sgt Peppers Musical Revolution with Howard Goodall".
An excellent insight into the musical inventiveness of the album, and the boundary pushing of 1960's technology, (all done on 4 track). Even how the last chord was created (with 8 pianos). Goodall has a real talent for explaining every aspect in a involving way.

Yes, I saw that on a previous showing - very interesting. BBC4 repeats a lot which is a good thing! Goodall is a very good - did you ever see his "Story of Music" series - about how music has evolved - well worth the watch. It's on you tube now: BBC Howard Goodall's Story of Music 1of6 The Age of Discovery - YouTube
