Fats was always a decent person - never a negative word or a complaint. He was a fan of music of all genres - blues, rock, country, R&B, classical, jazz, marching bands,... everything.

Probably the only thing he didn't like was touring. Once he realized that he could live comfortably off of his royalties, that's what he did - and quite humbly too - just a few blocks from where he grew up in New Orleans.
