If we're talking digital source I recommend The 1812 Overture on the Telarc label with actual church bells and live cannons. That'll test your system!

Hello,
OK well this little lot won't be to everyones tastes! But to give a bit more of a rockier perspective... Tool - Lateralus This is available in HDCD almost everywhere, which is nice, and its Tool. It has a few moments that make your head spin a bit ![]() A Perfect Circle - 13th Step Has the singer from tool, drummer from the vandals, and I think the bassist from Marilyn Mansun. Bit of a random mixture, but a very good result. Can't vouch for the recording quality of their first album as I have only heard '13th step' on cd Deftones - Around the fur and White pony Their first album was pretty rough sounding, but came good by around the fur. Their latest album (self titled) is good imo, but takes most people a long time to get used to! Incubus - Make Yourself Morning View and A Crow Left of the Murder are also very good, but a lot of people will have heard of those already. Science is good too Ummm, I could go on all night, hehe, but I best not. Hope this helps and opens up a few more genres to you Steve |
