What music did you last buy?

I got 2 78s today!!! (Both country)

1) Slim Whitman - When i grow too old to dream/Cattle call
2) Carl Smith - Old lonesome times/There she goes

I love 78s.. Of all records THEY SOUND THE NICEST due to them being in mono and the speed they are traveling at!!

If you like Crosby there's a wonderful station which has a sunday evening program featuring the music of the big band era -- WFUV's "Big Broadcast" plays music of the 20's and 30's:

The Big Broadcast | WFUV Radio
Gracious my friend!!

I have that and love it!!

Do you have a first pressing?? (No barcode on the jacket)

No.... no bar code.
That one was a thrift shop purchase.
The jacket is in bad shape but the vinyl seems OK by visual inspection.

I wont get my turntable for about another week .
So, I will either get some pleasant surprises or disappointments.

Anyway, I only paid $1 for it and I also have the CD.

My wonderful wife just got me a copy of "Redbird: Live at Cafe Carpe." Redbird is a collective of four Boston-based Americana artists, Kris Delmhorst, Jeffrey Foucault, Peter Mulvey, and Goody Goodrich (who just relocated to Austin). Spontaneous, eclectic, unbelievable fun. This is a GREAT band. We'll be seeing them at Carpe in two weeks.

Cafe Carpe is a tiny venue in Fort Atkinson, WI that unaccountably has some great touring artists passing through. Since my sad departure from Austin last year, it's been our regular live music fix. We were at a fun show there last night, fortifying ourselves against the 6 degree F (-14C) temperatures outside with lots of locally brewed Porter.
