RIP Mr. Brubeck we are thankful for the legacy you left us.

Funny that Dave is remembered by Take Five, 'cause Paul Desmond wrote it!
Maybe better to remember Dave with Blue Rondo a la Turk.

It's strange that I heard "Take Five" on the radio for the first time in years a few weeks ago.

Got in the car yesterday and Blue Rondo a la Turk was playing. It was an interview with Brubeck from 1999. Growing up, all he wanted to be was a cowboy, like his dad. They lived on a huge cattle ranch. Dave used to rope, ride and sing sad cowboy songs while paying his ukulele. Who knew?
