I thought it might be good to dig up and share all those great bands and artists that deserved better and never got the recognition they deserved.

By definition, they are hidden under stones that most people haven't turned over, so lets turn them over.

My first suggestion is "The Rainmakers" a hard charging rock n roll whirlwind from Kansas. Quality and drive that should have pushed them a lot further than they got. Their first eponymous album is a diamond.

Yes, I had forgotten that gem, but you sparked a memory from the past, It sounded familaiar, so I went to the vinyl vault and sure enough I have two Shooting Star records. The neighbors loved them I'm sure, best played at say 8.9 on the Richter scale.

Right next to the Shooting Star records were four Triumph records. I had forgotten those too. Allied Forces, crank that one to 10. Still evaluating Never Surrender. Two more records to go. Good LOUD sounds from that other Canadian power trio. Both of these bands were from when the M in MTV meant music, not mindless.

Several now well known musicians got their start on MTV. Does anyone remember the music video where 4 musicians were playing while rotating on the turntable inside a microwave oven?
