I like the fat guitars.

Its a classic stunt of crossover to attract attention. Not a bad rendering vocal wise considering the hybrid in mind. The lyrics have nothing to do with the metal style though. Its a gospel song in essence. The kilt is for the cameras. Heck everything is for the cameras. Its for Idol after all.

Much nearer to his vocal style. Though it seems he never had short hair and a punk flair. I would expect his best cover to be a take on 'Enter Sandman'.

Notice that the audience nearly wetting their pants.

Notice the man with the smile. He is Andreas Carlsson, hitmaker for Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Westlife, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, backstreet Boys and many more.

Andreas Carlsson

Based on the few videos that I just watched I can assume that Swedish Idol features music styles that don't show up on American Idol. I guess that the American audience wants to see the same junk that flows out of corporate owned American radio. I liked the Nirvana and Billy Idol covers too. I think Enter Sandman would work.
