It's unconfirmed whether Mike will stay with Avenged Sevenfold, but he has stated that he's interested in doing other projects (like Transatlantic). He just left because he wasn't up to doing another Dream Theater album without a break. I'm sure he'll be back in Dream Theater in a few years once he's had his time off. I'm interested to see what Dream Theater will be like without him though, they're already planning to start their next album in January.
