This track is by Bjork and since its readily available and mainstream, I'd like to ask if anyone here has heard it and what their view is of the recording quality?
I won't actually state my own opinion yet, to not bias the response. Thankyou, Professor |

There are two versions out there: the one included in Homogenic (mixed by Howie B) and the mix they used on the videoclip. Which one are you refering to since they are quite different?

i feel the recording is pretty good. the synth bass at the beginning seems very deep on my lil 5" speakers, and as normal the vocals sound classic bjork, as if the producer had the recording setup for her sorted right from the begining. all in all i like it, and it sounds damn good fading in at the beginning, when wound up to 90dB or so! i wouldnt say it was a natural recording though. typical good quality studio recording. the version i have is the one on 'greatist hits' type album.
i started a thread here: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/music...-speakers.html any input would be great to hear. thanks.

In my opinion the whole Homogenic album sounds quite good in many respects although it does seem a little "flat" compared to other productions of hers. Bass is very deep an blanced, granted, but the recorded elements don't quite stand out like they do on Vespertine, for instance. It doesn't come alive as much. I'm not saying it's a bad recording, just that it's mabe not her best. Actually the problem may have more to do with the mastering process than the actual recording.
Musically, though, it's probably my favourite Björk album. |
