I bought my daughter some Harry Potter sound tracks and I read to her out of the books with the music. Its a great time.
I realized that it was actually pretty nice to listen to and wondered if anyone has any that are also good. It looks like some of the new movies have pretty good ones like Sherlock Holmes 2009, Avatar etc. Any you guys like? |

![]() Black Hawk Down - "Gortoz a Ran J'attends", haunting female vocals Pirates of the Caribbean, the first one - Don't really like the rest of it, but the opening kettle drums are great Anything John Williams Gladiator The Fountain also comes to mind

His work on 'The Thin Red Line' is a triumph, but I enjoy his more commercial offerings as well - from 'True Romance' ("You're So Cool") to 'Hannibal' - although, ironically the best track from that film - "Vide Cor Meum" - was written by Patrick Cassidy, from Dante's original lyric. Regards, Ian |

Oops, also meant to add that I also enjoy listening to the following soundtracks:
'Traffic' by Cliff Martinez and 'Crash' by Mark Isham. Also Gustavo Santaolalla's work on the Alejandro González Iñárritu film 'Babel' - not to mention the work of Ryuichi Sakamoto on the same soundtrack. Regards, Ian |

Soundtracks?
Well, we could start with 'The Dambusters'. Then 'Exodus'. Then 'A Fistfull of Dollars'. Somewhere in there should be 'The Big Country'. John Barry's James Bond theme needs a mention. Without getting into musicals, Cabaret? If you fancy a laugh 'Jaws'. Henry Mancini's immaculate 'Pink Panther'. The Thin Red Line? I've got that. The soundtrack totally passed me by. w |
