Wow, this thread has become impressively degenerative.

The last two songs don't have car names in the title. People also have totally abandoned the 'one song per person per album' guideline/rule. Not to mention the change to a listing of artists at one point...

Impressive. Where else can this thread be taken?

Oh, it's all in good fun.

Here's a car song just for you, Sto.

Contact - Phish.

That oughta liven your spirits up a bit.

Haven't heard of a car called a stickshift or a safety belt there Rob.

Hi Dill,
You are quite right, it's not a model name. it can be removed if you like.
The car model is in the song not the title. The song refers to driving in "my Malibu".

That said I haven't heard of a car or model of thing called a Windowlicker, or a car just called a Tempest either! (it being Pontiac Tempest).
As these follow my post I guess it's my fault for giving the rules too much slack.

Packard was a car brand (manufacturer). I Googled this to be sure only to find that after Packard was acquired by Studebaker their sales declined to the point where there was only one model in 1958 simply called "Packard".

or a car just called a Tempest either! (it being Pontiac Tempest).

Do you say Toyota Camry, or just Camry. The Tempest was a very popular Pontiac in the 60's In fact the GTO was the result of stuffing the biggest Pontiac engine made into the mid sized Tempest.

Hey, I'm not bothered.
As we are near the end may as well just chill.

What I was trying to say is that in 1958 Packard was indeed a Studebaker model and therefore fits this thread. In the process I discovered the Packard Caribbean, which I did not know about. As a kid my nest door neighbor drove a 1950 Packard but I dont remember the model....Eight maybe.

I believe that Packard was called "the standard eight". We had a packet of the old sales literature from back in the day, glossy photos with some kind of felted covering.

Wish I knew where they were now.
