Dunno if they're playing with words (they look too daft for that); la polla is slang for the human male sexual organ (the part that raises itself) - there's no la pollo. However, there's el pollo which means (you guessed) - the chicken.
Where is la pollo?

So either they can't find their own di*** or are looking for a chicken.

the lyric reportedly arose from a conversation a travelling NZ-born friend had while in Spain. He was trying to locate a bus that would take him to a particular location, and in truly mangled spanglish spouted the now world-famous-in new zealand line "donde..."

It appears in the song for the same reason that Queen included the lines "Gallileo..." In Bohemian Rhapsody - it sounds great and was an inside joke.
