I noticed an old familiar Steppenwolf song as the #7 reply. I remember seeing an NHRA dragster with the name Firespittenloudenboomer around the same time frame (about 1970), so I Googled it. Google returned a drag boat name and a link to a post in this thread where I used the Steppenwolf song. It is post #8069 from 2013. There are 3 replies with titles that duplicate those in this theme.

I had to dig deep into my hard drive for that one......the section where a few of us made "backup" copies of each others drives in case of drive failure......this was in a section named Jose's MP3's.

* My Cousin Phyllis was driving us from the airport at the beginning of an amazing holiday ( vacation ) We were driving on the motorway ( freeway? ) toward downtown Toronto and this song was playing in her car. Whenever I hear this song it literally sends shivers up and down my spine as I recall the excitement of this trip.

I just don't really have one to fit the bill...lots of tunes with lots of memories...but nothing evocative enough to stand out as being markworthy. Maybe something suitable might be; the then, to me baffeling image of certain of my then young teenage contemporaries getting haircuts, suitably refered to as "Ferret", and buying into the commercial hype around Suzi Quatro, Slade, Kiss and all the bubble-gum bla-bla. So here is one tastless little ditty to bring back recollections of days best forgotten:

I forgot a small story, or an explanation why I picked Epitaph, King Crimson's rather dystropic tune.
When I was 15 or 16, I was camping with my parents and while the elders were sitting round the camp fire, I took the transistorradio and moved away to a spot where I could see the bay and the setting sun in the East and as the sky was coloured in red, orange and yellow, the radio started playing Epitaph.
