As the story goes......the album cut was just a sound check/jam while waiting for their producer and they just liked the sound of "Ina Godda Da Vida" over the intended title of "In The Garden Of Eden".

However since the jam was recorded, it was decided that it was plenty good enough to release without re-recoding it with the intended title.

I have that album in vinyl and it is the best cut on it.
In fact it's the only cut on the album that I ever play.
The rest of the album (the other side) is garbage IMO but, "In A Gadda Da Vida" is a bona fide rock classic. :)

Also, it originally started to get airplay simply because some progressive FM DJs had an entire album side to do whatever as it played .
