Metallica scary? The Sandman didn't scare me, but I was in the front of the pit on the railing at the Miami rendition of the Load tour. Scary? The PYRO, yes the same pyro that fried James Hetfield. The pyro was much louder then the music, the heat was intense, and we all smelled like the 4th of July on the ride home. The pyro smell did a good job of covering up the usual smell at concerts loke this.

The show was probably the best scripted and choreographed rock show that I have ever been to. We got there during the opening bands show, Corrosion of Conformity. There was a stage with the musicians performing on it. There was a large area in front of the stage, railed off from access. It surrounded a mass of twisted metal. As we were checking things out I noticed a Metallica play list on some of the metal. After the first set on the main stage, the mass of metal builds itself into a big stage that was only a few feet from the floor. Metallica played a screamin set where all but the drummer were wireless and running around while things were exploding. As the band plays on the stage starts to self destruct. A light unit catches fire and a roadie climbs the scaffolding to fix it, The light explodes setting the roadie on fire. The roadie falls but gets tangled up in the wiring, so he is hanging upside down about 20 feet in the air, on fire! Someone puts him out with a fire extinguisher, and then cuts him down. An ambulance drives right out on thr floor to take the roadie away. The pyro goes into overdrive and the whole stage collapses. The stadium is dark for a few minutes, then metallica plays another set on the original stage. Of course this was all part of the scripted show. Many concert goers were convinced that a roadie died.

No pace here, aren't you afraid of terrible songs? I remember feeling fear and horror before going to "parties" where I knew salsa music was going to be played. I did it for love but end up running scared. No amount of love can bear the pain of listening to Miami Sound Machine for a whole hour.
