From the front page of The Wall Street Journal the headline;
Even Heavy-Metal Fans Complain That Today's Music Is Too Loud!!! The headline at the top of the page was "Financial Crisis Upends Campaign" I guess it was a quiet news day. In any case don't blame the sound engineer, he is quoted as stating "Believe me I'm not proud to be associated with this one." Death Magnetic has sold 827,000 copies in two weeks so the marketing people must be reasonably pleased. The journalists states the dynamic range of music released these days is 1/4 to 1/8 as wide as music released in the 90's. |
