Radiohead- all
T. Monk- all Miles Davis- all, Bitches Brew is my favorite Roger Waters- Amused to Death Dire Straits- all The Police I have some favorites but there can be only one favorite. It is Thelonius Monk, "Live at the It Club" legacy edition. A very close second is the studio SACD album, "Straight, No Chaser." I am building a SACD DAC and transport to play to play these greats. In fact, even if I only had "Straight, no chaser" for SACDs I would still spend $1000 on gear just to listen to that one disc(my second favorite). I wish that my favorite would be released on SACD. |

Anything by Sigur Ros, or Stars of the Lid. The spacey stuff is best.
Also... John Coltrane and Kenny Burrell bring out the best in my system. Ambient music really makes you ponder lifes unrealities and su- real- isms....

I just discovered these ladies and totally dig their sound. They have a 1920's-30's vibe that I'm really liking and sound's great.

That's a really tough question. All depends on mood or inspiration.
Jazz-side: Miles, Sam Rivers, Mingus, McLaughlin, Coryell, Gil Evans, Howard Johnson, James Ulmer, Ornette, Helen Merrill, Kip Hanrahan, Marcus Roberts, Henry Threadgill, Julius Hemphill, Dave Holland, Andrew Hill, Anthony Braxton, ... "Pop" side: Richard Thompson, Boz Scaggs, Joni Mitchell, Talking Heads, King Crimson, Led Zeppelin, Peter Green in various settings, Clapton (mainly with Cream), Beatles, Nick Cave, Nick Drake, Tom Rapp (Pearls before Swine), Al Kooper's version of Blood, Sweat and Tears, Leonard Cohen, Tull, Blodwyn Pig, ... Well, that's most of the last few weeks anyway. |

I love Miles too. My faves are:
'Round Midnight Kind of Blue Milestones I also listen to a lot of classical. Right now I'm listening to Beethoven's piano sonatas (the box set) with Richard Goode at the piano. John.
