Default good jazz guitar CD?, which

Like Lee Ritenour, Color Rit CD is great, also enjoyed Fourplay, Do you have favorite CDs of similar genre?

Eric Klugh, even Wes Montgomery, these are great guitarist some crossover and some jazz, I like them.

I would like your opinion as to which CDs are worth purchasing.

I've been a fan of Grant Green for years. I don't consider him to be a virtuoso player, but I love his style. His playing is very melodic, but no fancy stuff. He's my favorite jazz guitarist. His most critically acclaimed CD is "Idle Moments", which I like a lot. But I like "Street of Dreams" even better. It features organist Larry Young. Those two guys played some great stuff together.

These are both on the Blue Note label and have great sound quality and reasonable price.

I am a rabid fan of Chet Atkins. You might think of him as a country player, but, in his latter years he put out a lot of jazzy type albums: 'Sails', 'Read My Licks', 'Stay Tuned', 'Chet Atkins, C.G.P.' bunch of others. Also Mark Knoplfler (with Chet: 'Neck and Neck'), and people that they've played with. Also, George Benson, Carlos Santana ('Caravanserai'!), Les Paul (couple albums with Chet Atkins, 'Chester and Lester' and 'Guitar Monsters'), BB King ('Riding with the King' with Eric Clapton is GREAT). Others that aren't so jazz/blues, such as John Renbourne, Bert Jansch, Doc Watson, Leo Kottke, Stefan Grossman, that are folksy or blue grassy might also pique your interest. If blue grass interests you, Jerry Garcia, of the Grateful Dead did a number of bluegrass albums, 'Old and in the Way' is easily available and really good.

Now, we can do this the hard way, or... well, actually there's just the hard way.
