Not that I'm much of a fan of the white stripes or this song, I have a copy of it. This is seriously one of the most garbage sounding recordings I've EVER HEARD. Constant OBVIOUS clipping, horrible compression, CRAZY EQing, it sounds as if there's a bass hump around 60Hz, it makes my headphones sound like ported speakers!
I realise this is a well travelled topic but WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? I could make a better sounding recording with my little electret PC mic! |

I think you missed the Music forum by a click.
But yes, their "recording method" sounds horrible, which in some sick way is "hip".

I love the song and style, His Raconteurs stuff has superior production though so there is a technique in there, if you don't like it don't listen to it!?! Nick.

I just ordered this album about an hour ago. Is it bad for the White stripes or do you just not care for their sound?
