Solvent needed

Does anyone have a suggestion as to a solvent that will soften or remove the black goop or epoxy used to cover the connection on the speaker cone where the lead wires connect to the voice coil winding? I believe a have an intermittent connection there and need to touch up with solder. Any help is appreciated. Harry

I don't know if it'll work or not but you could give acetone a try. It's pretty powerful stuff.
