room treatments

i want to build some panels out of 2x6 and this stuff

i'm not sure how large 1 can make the panels,but they can only be a maxmium of 6" thick.the room is a almost square loft apt.i will post a couple pics later.first i need to know it this would work and be worth while.

It's what I like to use inside speakers so I would think it would work for room treatment. Are you planning to buy the compressed stuff or the looser batt type? I'm thinking the compressed stuff would be nice to work with.

EDIT: On closer inspection, I see that is the compressed stuff.

If you can afford the leather couch in the picture you can probably afford the aerogel panels.

It is a nice looking room! But yeah, he shows how to make the panels so DIY!

You could use the compressed fibre instead of the foam he does, but I'd cover it with a fabric to stop it falling out and to look nicer through the gaps of the wood.

heres a pic of the front.1 could fit a 2'x10' panelbelow and above the screen.do you think this would helpi can get more pics of the place when i have better light.the couch is about middle of the room.the areo panel looks interesting.my main concern is the low end.
