Hi pinkmouse

I usually use a 9 Volt battery with good results and the movement of the dome is easily seen.

The DC resistance of the tweeter is ~ 6 Ohms , 9 Volts across 6 Ohms give 1,5 Amp ( if the battery is fresh enough... ;) ).

That will give a power dissipation of 9 X 1.5= 13,5 W , that the tweeter will take safely for briefs instants...

Just my experience...
