What effect will increasing the impedance of the loudspeaker have on the performance of the amplifier circuit it is run by?
For example a circuit designed to run an 8 ohm loadspeaker running a 16 ohm one instead. this is the circuit i plan to build. All i want to know is, will it work decently enough for it's purpose - driving a 16 ohm compression driver. |

Generally an amplifier will give less than rated output for higher impedences. So you might get 4-5 watts out of this design into 16 ohms. Depending on the efficiency of the driver this may or may not be an issue.
