Anyone know what is going on at Ascendant Audio? I have checked their site several times for their Poly 6.5" woofer but everything has been out of stock. Now they have updated the home page and talk about going to dealer based distribution. It also makes it sound like it will be several weeks before this will be worked out. It talkes about changes in their subwoofer lines but nothing about 6.5 woofer. Any others with information about this?

It seems like such a great niche, but it's really hard to get a company off the ground. I've seen it at two separate startup companies in San Francisco where I used to work.
From what I've seen, the kind of people who are good at getting the thing started from nothing and getting an awesome idea off the ground aren't always the best equipped to take it to the next level. The first startup I was at had a neat piece of technology but no clue about manufacturing, and the second one was just a little short on business sense and bit off more than it could chew. I wish everyone at both of my startups as well as Chad at Ascendant the best of luck, and I hope that they can pull through to the other side, but it's a hurdle that you don't see coming and it isn't easy to get over. If they make it, I'd love to give their products a shot. I wasn't really ready to build a sub anyway, so I guess I haven't given up yet. |

Looking at our company, you will see that every product is currently out of stock.
It's been like this for 6 months. Forebodes gloomy prospects.

You could consider the Mach 5 MLI-65. Extremis is much less sensitive than the AAP 6.5. http://www.zaphaudio.com/6.5test/ |
