Jordan JX92S vs ProAC 2.5 Clone

Hi,

I'm considering of building a pair of either fullrange Jordan JX92S MLTL-31 (or 48) or a pair of ProAC 2.5 clones. I'm fairly new at building speakers, however I have access to extensive toolshop.

Which one should suit better for funk and jazz? In addition the speakers would have to be ok for occasional home theatre usage. The sound qualities I'm looking for are accuracy and range, I'm not planning to add a subwoofer.

What made u narrow down your choices tto those two?? I havent heard the clones but have extensive expereince with the origionals and have heard a few Jordan designs. They are two very differant sounding speakers. If you mainly listen to light acoustic or vocal type usic I think the Jordans are the way to go. But if you listen to anything electronic like rock, funk, pop, the 2.5 is the way to go. This is realy over simplifying it, there are alot of other facors such as room size and what the rest of your system looks like...etc. If I was you I would try and find a dealer who sells Proac and listen to the newer D25, they arent the same as the 2.5 but they will at least give you some idea, then find a dealer that sells single driver speakers and have a listen. At least then youll get an idea of the differant sounds.
