Someone was looking at a pair of Bose 802's for PA use in a small gym.
Of course, my first thought was "You can do better than that!" Let's see if we can offer a hand to whoever it is, eh? http://forums.audioreview.com/showthread.php?t=21221 |

STP, I haven't heard the Bose 802's, but some of the Pro guys who also are audiophile/DIY'ers have said (on other forums) that the Bose Pro stuff is pretty good. Seems the Pro division is run by Engineers as opposed to the Marketing Jerks that dominate the consumer side. Best Regards, TerryO

For background music or speech they're fine, if a little more expensive than the competition.

Some crazy suggestions she got on that forum .....1000-2000 to spend .... that should not be hard to solve
I once had some small PA Altec with 10" .... sounded pretty good and later we used some small ElectroVoice .... they were pretty loud ![]() edit... offcourse they will have to be raised above ground |

These appear to be for music, for a dance class. They'll only be moved about twice a month, so I figure that they need not be as portable as 801's or even your average Mackies. A pair of line arrays would give ridiculous SPLs with audiophile-level quality, and once you factor in the integrated amplifier, they're not such a bad deal.

Yes, I was thinking in light portable system - 2x12" should do the trick - but I guess we are not talking diy ?
